Drought. Dark brown with small creamy tan head, roasted malt aroma, burnt taste, low carbonation, medium finish. I would expect a sweeter, chocolatey taste but not bad.

Tallboy from Ramy poured into a Hovels tall thin mug. Small bubbly head fades rather quickly. Body is very hazy pale straw. Aroma is very dry hoppiness with accents of lemon skin, bitter dry greens, and mostly dry grapefruit. Flavor is a strong bitter grapefruit with a long bitter and dry finish. Malts are cracker and white bread. Perfectly in the background. The beer is super light and so easy to drink. The bitter aftertaste gives heft to the beer. Its really nice, just so easy to put down.

16oz can pours a clear, bright gold with some fluffy white head. Nose is very nice, bright lemon, wet grass, zested orange, some straw. Flavor is light and crisp, grassy, straw, lemon, a little herbal tea, chamomile. Crisp finish. Slightly tannic.

Light bodied, pale colored session beer, hoppy grapefruit overtones. Whole Foods growler. Grapefruit taste was not overwhelming, and overall this had a pleasant flavor.

Growler shared at Dadsgiving, big thanks to Paul, 24/11/13. Hazed orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is juicy hops, bitter orange, tropicals, light booze waft, dank hops, touch of pine. Taste comprises juicy hops, orange pith, grapefruit, tarte apricots. Medium bodied with oomph, fine carbonation, grassy semi aggressive hop bitterness in the finish. Nice easy drinking DIPA.

One Mile House, NYC tap: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is grassy hops, wet hay, and biscuity malts. I don’t really get much rye out of this either (unless it is blatant for me in a beer, I seldom notice it). Anyway, the body is really light. The beer itself is kind of bitter, with nice hoppy flavors throughout. This is certainly better than the last Carton I had, for which I am quite happy.

I tried to grab a half growler of this at Whole Foods but the line was messed up so they gave me a quarter growler free of charge which is nice. Pours black with purplish head. Nose of berries and chocolate. tastes of sour cherries, chocolate, malt, cola, and berries. fun brew

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is barely anything. Maybe a hint of grains or something. Taste is really not that much either. Where is the salt? Where are the clams? Where is the lemongrass? Basically, I got very little of any of this; instead, I got a super light golden ale that if my tastebuds squinted could make out some salt or gose goodness. Disappointed. I normally like Carton too. And, I normally like goses as well.
