Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is lots of caramel malt, big notes of wood, rye, vanilla, touch of red fruits, lots of oak, sherry. Flavour is quite sweet and lightly bitter. Body is medium to full. Rich and sweet vanilla oak sherry ’Rye Wine’, nice ’digestif’.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is fruity and a little floral hoppy with citrus, orange, lightly tropical, soft bready malt, light yeast, and a slight herbal touch. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Soft, easy and fruity, I like this.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is big potent sweet rum, oak, caramel malt, soft coconut, toffee, vanilla, raisins. Flavour is sweet with a little bitterness in the finish and a touch of booze. Body is full with a bit sticky mouthfeel. Nice blend of ’Rye Wine’ and Rum, rich and heavy one to sip on.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is spicy with cinnamon, pear, anise, oak, sugary, caramel malt, alcohol, dried fruit syrup, raisins, cough drops. Flavour is massively sugary sweet with booze. Body is medium to full. Well-regarded I suppose, but really not my thing, too heavy on the spices, sugary cough drops and booze for my taste. By lighyears my least favourite of this BA series, too much Aquavit.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is strong Bourbon, vanilla, oak, dried fruits, caramel, soft coconut, toffee, raisins, touch of iodine. Flavour is quite sweet with a little bitterness and some warming booze. Body is full and heavy. Pretty smooth dispite the heavy Bourbon and high alcohol content. Nice light touch of coconut. Good one.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is malt, strong peat, caramel, oak, dried fruits, vanilla, whiskey, with notes of ash. Flavour is rather sweet and moderate bitter with some noticeable booze. Body is full. Enjoyable with lots of peat, barrel and vanilla. Slight touch of smoke. Decent Ledaig aged Barley Wine, a bit boozy and hot, quite sweet, unbalanced and heavy.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is sturdy grainy malts, rye, citrus, soft floral hops, touch of caramel, light pine resin. Moderate sweet flavour with a likewise moderate bitter finish. Body is medium. Tasty with a robust grainy malt profile and some welcome hoppy notes.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is dark malt, slight notes of lactose, with a hint of chocolate. Where are the promised berries? I get only a hint of ’em in the finish. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is light and weak. Not what I want from a berry-infused Milk Stout, disappointing.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is softly smoked oat malt, fruity hops, tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus, with a touch of peat. Flavour is light sweet and medium biter. Body is medium. A well-realised Smoked IPA, smoke is definitely there but it doesn’t nullify the fruity hops. Good.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is herbal with juniper, fruity hops, green leaves, citrus, gin-tonic, touch of dille. Flavour is light sweet and medium bitter with a dry finish. Body is medium. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this, but this is a very likeable experiment, tasty.
