Dark ruby red colour, creamy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, bay leave and dark rye bread (Fries roggebrood). Hints of candied citrus peel. Fruity hops. Flavour of malts, coffee, toffee, milk chocolate, burnt malt bitterness, slight smokyness. Slightly astringent, leaves a dry mouth feel. Rather long finish with bitter burnt malt tones and hops. Pleasant. (From 33cL bottle)

Slightly hazy yellow colour. Sharp aroma of hop.Quite some hop in the flavour. It’s sharper than it is sweet. Very refreshing.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, dark amber beer with a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma is quite hoppy, with citrus and pine cones, but also alcohol and a heavy maltyness. Quite sweet on the palate, slighlty warming, and full-bodied. The flavor is sweet and a bit alcoholic, but quite pleasant. Dry towards the end. I’m a bit doubtful it’s really 10%, at least it hides the alcohol very well. I like the use of hops too, but would like a bit more bitterness. 110415
