Heller, dumpf alkoholisch hopfiger Antrunk. Die eh milde Hopfigkeit sinkt schnell, erstaunlicherweise steigt die etwas süße Würzigkeit, das Bier wird rund, etwas hefig, dabei passend trocken. Runder Nachgeschmack. 11/8/11/11/10/11

Pours a very black brown brew with no head whatsoever, and an almost imperceptible carbonation. The smell is mostly sweet, honey and traces of strawberry jam alongside alcohol. The taste is also quite sweet, with malted sugars dominating strawberry jam, red grapes and a medicinal bitterness in the background. Very thick body and up-front alcohol, together with a too sweet and sticky aftertaste make this a mediocre beer, from my perspective.

33cl Bottle from De Bierboetiek, thanks Chris&Suus! Dark ruby-brown colour, thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, cherries, plums, malts, chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet, malty, fruity, dark fruits, plums, figs, chocolate, light bitter finish. Full bodied, oily, flat. Very tasty IMHO.

33cl Bottle, thanks Chris&Suus! Slightly hazy golden colour, thin white head. Aroma of honey, flowers, light yeasty, some alcohol, malts. Flavour is light to medium sweet, light malty, honey, flowers, yeast, yeasty bitterness, dry and rather bitter finish, almost herbal. Light to medium bodied. OK-ish.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 12-2016, large sample. Dark brown color, short to no frothy head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, molasses, honey. Bit sweet in taste, bit bitter dark malts, honey, slight laurel. Bit dry in the finish, slight alcohol. Bit unbalanced, but quite interesting. Decent.

Tap sample at NHBF’15. Murky golden colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, light spices, more yeast, light floral. Flavour is likewise, quite sweet, yeasty, light spicy, has some wit character, but is too muddy. Light yeasty bitterness. Light bodied.

er staat niets op het flesje wat voor stijl het is. schenkt donker bruin met rode gloed, kaki kraag welke toch vrij snel inkakt tot beperkt maar blijvend laagje. Aroma is moutig, donkere fruiten maar ook een brett zuurtje. smaken zijn redelijk aan de zure kant, koffie, droog, matig zoet, matig bitter, donker fruit, verder glad en zacht in de mond. koffie Even opgezocht bij de brouwer wat voor stijl het nu eigenlijk was, maar volgens een posting van vorig jaar blijkbaar een niet alledaagse Vlaamse Bruine. nou alledaags is het iig zeker niet... ben er nog niet achter of het nu zo bedoeld is of niet...
