Description
Three Notch’d Brewing Company was conceived by three friends who value great beer and great times, with close family and friends. Each of us has a great appreciation for individualism, respect for hard work and earning our ability to give back to the communities we live in. We opened our doors for commercial operation in August of 2013 and work each day to Leave Our Mark on the craft brew industry and Charlottesville, VA by making great beer and collaborating with all lovers of the craft beer industry. We hope that you will join us and Leave Your Mark, too.

Draft at St. Maarten’s. Pours dark brown with a thin frothy brown head. Fair head retention. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, nuts, moderate whiskey in the finish. The taste is wood, roast, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, herbal hops, mild toffee. Medium bodied, highly drinkable. So often whiskey and vanilla are overbearing in beers but this one is exceptionally balanced. Well done.

Draft at the brewery, 12/22/13. Pours a hazy peach color with a thin ring of head. Fair head retention. Aroma of honey, nuts, stone fruits, mild citrus. The taste is the same with a bit of doughiness and a bright citrus finish. Thin-medium bodied. I generally dislike sorghum beers but this one is very well done.
