Medium gold body and little foam. Zero, zip, nada on the nose. Flavour is chunky sugar and sweet grain. Chewy on the mouth. I Fail to see the pilsner in this.

Yellow semi fog and modest white foam, very faint lager hops on the nose. Flavour is reasonably crisp grains, dry on the mouth. Perfectly adequate for what it is.

Bright golden-amber colour, with a medium head. Nutty coffee notes. Tart up front, with a really clashy nutty sour. This makes no sense.

On tap in Chemainus, as one does. Has okay sort of clear brown body and little foam. Smells softly of caramelized malt. Flavour is very sweet malt, honey it seems, some biscuit. Chewy and charming though still somehow suburban and not complex.

650mL bottle, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Nose brings out a nice espresso character upfront, with tart fruits melding well. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very cohesive mix of espresso and red fruits. A strange idea that works well—but this opinion is apparently polarizing. Very good.

Bottle. Dark purple colour. No head, and there wasn't much pop when I pulled the cork out. Abundant elderberry on the nose, a little bit jammy but mostly just bright and appetizing. Tart, woody, actually quite bracing. The elderberry lends a bright fruitiness, especially in the back half, before the sharp acidic finish. In way it is a bit two-dimensional but all told it's a solid brew.

Dark brown. Thin head. Definitely butyric...ack. Tart, thin and yuk. Harsh. The currants seem dried, and they do nothing here but add some wildness that ferments poorly.
