Light golden colour. Light pale malt aroma with grassy hops and sweatiness from the distinctive house yeast, though this latter component is suprisingly understated. Must be a lager thing. The palate is slightly crisp, and a light bitterness underpins a fresh pale malt character. Clean and refreshing. You can’t really call it a masterpiece of brewing, but it hits all the notes it was aiming for and is a well-made example of the proverbial "lawnmower" beer.

Sparkling gold, lasting white head, small plentiful bead. Slightly grassy nose. Grainy with a dirty line taste, which one doesn’t get often in a bottle

Gold with fast fading head. Slightly spicy skunky nose. Light malt profile is overpowered by skunkiness

Golden colour. Grainy, husky aroma with urine-like hop notes. Light, fizzy body with stale bread notes and a slightly tart, crisp wheaty finish. What bugs me is the double-shot to the groin that this beer represents. It’s one thing to suck, but Shaftebury used to have a pretty good wheat beer in the pre-Sleeman days, like a really good riff on the Widmer Hefeweizen concept. Moreover, they used to call their Christmas barley wine "Wet Coast". Bringing back memories of two tasty old-school Shaftebury brews does not conjure up favourable comparisons when drinking this bland foolishness.

Light bronze colour. Slightly spicy, herbal noble hop aroma with breadcrusty malts underneath...but all of this is fairly light. Light malt flavour with slightly tinny, grassy hops. Clean, but dull.

Amber color that has a mildly spiced finish and hints of orange peel. Not exactly a winter beer
