Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice root, star anise, chocolate, cinnamon and mild toasted tones. Flavour is chocolate, some liquorice, mild cinnamon with some wood and mild sweet maltiness too.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy and pale malty aroma, hints of orchard fruit, pale berries, a touch of citrus fruit. Taste is pale malty and slightly caramel malty with subtle residual sweetness, and mildly bitter, slightly fruity, minimally piney hoppy, unspecific fruitiness. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Quite some (rather cautious), amalgamated hop flavours, a bit monotonous - had higher expectations at an anniversary ale.
