Description
In 1861 the 25-years old Heinrich Schneider decided to found a brewery on the “Grün’schen Hof” in Hachenburg. The Hachenburger brewery soon became the most important family brewery within the region. With business leader and co-owner Jens Geimer the family-owned company has reached the fifth generation and is still entirely independent.

Key to the success is that the beer is consistently cooled, the precious beer has achieved its special aroma over and over again for 150 years. What was true then is still true today: the long and cold ageing process is a fundamental requirement for a real Hachenburger as well as the use of high-grade raw materials. As well as the natural spring water from the Rothbach valley

Really hopped up light summer beer. Super floral and bright refreshing hops. A little bitter and a touch astringent that just isn’t quite backed up. Bottle from martin hometown

Certainly one of the most bitter hoppy versions of a German pills i’ve had. The flavour is perhaps a bit dominated by something off. Slightly oxidized. Bottle from Martin home

33cl bottle. A slightly hazy bright yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of pale malt, hay, sweetish citrus hops. Taste of grainy and mild breadish malt, flowers, hints of citrus.

01-09-20 // 500ml botle from Rewe katzenelnbogen. Really enjoyed this one. Clear copper golden. White head. Malty sweet nose. Body of caramel and toffee sweet malts perfectly balanced by a hop bitterness and some noble hop aromas. Smooth. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hachenburger Fest-Bier on 01 Sep 2020 at 22:11 - Score: 7. Original review text: Really enjoyed this one. Clear copper golden. White head. 30-08-20 // from Rewe Katzenelnbogen. 330ml bottle. Unfiltered golden. Finer white head, short lasting. A mild sweetness and some classic hop in the nose. Light bodied. Lower sweetness mild grains and a good natural, fresher, light grassy hop aroma. Good bitterness. Hachenburger Schwarze, Fläschchen vom Craft Beer Store Steffenberg. - Dunkelrotbraun, klar. (1.7.2020.)

Bottle from beerhunter111! Golden yellow, mid-sized white head. Malty, with nice herbal-grassy hops and a lingering bitter-sweet finish. Nice!

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish, pale and bright golden colour with average, fluffy, white head of good retention - decent lacings. Fruity and floral, hoppy aroma, notes of mirabelle, apricot, unripe peach and nectarine, fresh hay, minimally biscuity, pale malty background, a very light, Saison-like, peppery yeasty spicy touch, minimally doughy, yeasty overtones as well. Taste is floral-grassy and minimally fruity hoppy, minimally sweet, biscuity and bready pale malty, diluted hints of fresh hay, a touch of mirabelle and apricot, moderate hop bitterness, a touch of white bread crust, some watery passages. Creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and gentle carbonation. Nice, refreshing, light summer beer. Due to the light doughy yeasty touch in the nose I had a moment thinking about, if this could be a stronger brewed beer with the alcohol reduced afterwards. Shows a light Grisette-touch on the other hand, so I'm not sure. Definitely one of the more interesting beers from this brewery. But I'm afraid they will not find enough public in their region.
