Dark brown colour, almost black, brown large frothy head that stays quite long. Aroma is caramel, dark bread. Medium bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation. There is some warming alcohol. Quite ok.

500 ml bottle acquired from Half Time recently. As time has gone along I’m finding I can really appreciate a black lager or black IPA, time to find out about this one. I have my Great Heights tulip glass ready to receive. A dark brown, almost black, body topped with a steady spread of khaki foam. I smell grain and a touch of hops. The drink is decent, even all right in the style. Toasted bread, malt, a hoppy bitterness, a small amount of licorice and likewise a small sweetness. Good beer.

Bottle. Really cheap (2$ bottle in manhattan) and pleasantly surprising. Dark brown wmedium head, some sugary notes, nutty aroma, & some bitterness to finish. Good value!

Bottle from Total Wine in Vacaville, CA. Pours clear brassy gold with a moderate but persistent creamy white head. Light grass/spice aroma. Approaching med body. Dry, but not biscuity. Light grass/spice for flavor with light bready support. Sessionable I say.

500ml bottle from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a large white head and great retention. Lots of active carbonation. Good lacing. Light Euro malt aroma. Fairly generic Euro lager flavor with just a slightly vegetal finish. Thankfully no sulfur notes. Soft water body and soft carbonation. Low bitterness. Tastes fine, yet very forgettable. The taste diminishes as it warms.
