Description
At Hop City, we create beer that inspires the curious, and fuels the restless.
We embrace the journey as much as you do. We take risks, make wrong turns, and just go for it.
For us, it’s about believing in curiosity. Because even though it may have killed the cat, before he died, that cat probably had a pretty good time.

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a big frothy beige head, good retention and soapy lace. Aromas of roasted malts and butterscotch with hints of grassy hops and nuts. Smooth mouthfeel, between wet and slightly creamy with a little stickiness. Light flavours of roasted malt, giving notes of coffee and nuts, with the nice yeast. I really enjoyed this one, and so did Lilihel. She would keep some of these in her fridge.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Golden amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is caramel malt, light cardboard, biscuit, toffee, a little stale smelling. Taste comprises dark malts, caramel, bready pangs, cake mix, light vanilla, dark fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so, a pretty basic affair.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a clear, amber body under a small, off-white head. The aroma is weak, with some caramel and toffee, hints of dried fruits. It’s medium bodied and semi-dry, with a soft and pleasant carbonation level. The flavor has caramel and some toast, with hints of cooked vegetables. Caramel finish. Pretty drinkable, but rather boring. 140301

This might be a hit with drinkers of macro lagers, but overall I find it bland and lightweight. Nice looking beer, rich amber color and fluffy/rocky head. Aroma is almost too faint to register and taste is very light malt. Might be a good summer time brew.
