Description
The brewery was founded in 1867 as the Dampfbrauerei Carl Kuntze. Later the name was changed into "Brauerei Neunspringe" on an old field name which in turn is derived from nine springs in the source area of the Hahle, from which the brewery draws its spring water. The brewery survived the war and stayed in the hand of the Kuntze family. But in 1953 the brewery was confiscated and transferred to a state-owned company, a situation that lasted till the end of the GDR. After a trust agency period by the Treuhandanstalt, the company became in a private limited company (GmbH) again in 1994.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts mild, malty, dry. Light metallical touch. More and more fruity malty, some hints of lemon, mild bitterness. Finish well balanced. Okay.

Bottle from the train station in Halle. Probably red, I assume. Malty, sweetness, melanoidin, a tad of butter, roasted. Full, juicy. Bit flowery. Not sticky, nice hoppiness. Not bad.

From a bottle bought at the Halle main train station. Red or amber or something I presume. Berry melanoidin notes, mellow, not too sticky, fruit basket hop counterpoint. Pleasant.

"Neunspringer Helles", Flasche von Globus, Erfurt-Linderbach, 17.9.2025. - Goldgelb, blank.
