Big 4$ green 0.5L bottle from total wine, St. Pete. Pour is somewhat cloudy light brown orange brew. Nose is a interestingly fresh but has an alarming odd cleaning fluid aroma. First taste? Stronger boozy personality with some bitterness component along with the toasted malt, caramel, and nuts. Not real civilized, considering this is only 6%. The photo here, which is clear pale in a green bottle, is a little misleading. Its got a darker cloudy appearance in my sample. Considering the czech guys are the right hand border to germany, this isn't too bad, but certainly does have some of that baltic attitude. From the end of the 19th century, this stuff is stoic, resilient and unflappable. It follows up by possessing a vigilant surrealent Russo-realism. On the finish its quite impressive providing an unconscious mind to express itself, often resulting in the depiction of illogical or dreamlike scenes and ideas. Decent co2 from the start. There you have it. In the end, it does what its supposed to do.

16.9oz bottle. A pretty decent Czech Dark. This one is just over a year old and still holds up rather well, though I'm sure it would be better fresh of course. Chocolate, roast malts. Easy going body, very drinkable. Mild hop tone gives it some balance. Good.

Bottle. Not as old as other bottles I have had. Still has some grassy hop tone. Malt tone isn't spectacular, but works OK. Bitter balance carries it. OK.

Pour is a bright and clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a pretty good grainy malt and herbal hop. Flavor is a little light but still a nice grainy malt with enough hops to notice. Probably not up to the standard of best Czech lagers but pretty close.

Finding this bottle, at the Billa, Ebreichsdorf. Drinking it, today, coming back from Brno. Average and classical, czeck lager/pils, perfect to start a night with one tapas, smooth, malty, bready, watery, mineral, light and correct bitterness.
