Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12. Very lightly hazed dark yellow/orange. Nose comprised citrus tones, hops and a little pissyness. Taste follows with light tropical fruit flavours, more citrus, background hops. Medium bodied but a little thin and wet for 6.6% ABV. Felt a bit short changed by this one and was distinctly ’whelmed’!

Bottle at Chriso - 01/10/12. Very dark brown approaching black with a thin tan head that soon clears. Dark roasted malts, nuts, toffee and chocolate on the nose. Taste follows nose, great roast flavour, a little smoke also. Smooth drinking porter with a medium body and a dry finish. Good first effort from this young brewery.

Bottle, many thanks to Theydon_Bois at ChrisO. It pours very dark brown (nr. black), with a thin beige head. The nose is light smoke, roasted malt, charcoal and some meatiness (akin to Bavarian ham). The taste is roasted malt, ashy, charcoal, earth, bitter coffee and some leather, with a very dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Punches above its weight. Good flavour and balance. Surprisingly good.
