Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.

The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

A golden beer with a huge bubbly light orange head. The aroma is grainy malty combined with some notes of straw and metal. The flavor is quite sweet and malty with an alcoholic and metallic flavor hitting You very quickly, then later comes lighter notes of caramel and straw, leading to a quite alcoholic and dry end.

Bottle, 2.6%. Citric aroma, not really bad. Golden colour, stable white head. Mild and slightly sweet flavour with a little aroma hops. This is better than many 5% lagers.

Bottled. Clear, golden with a small, white head. Sweet aroma with caramel-notes, some hops and grain. The sweet and grainy flavor has a surprising alcohol note and a strange bitterness. Thin body and some bitterness in the finish. Decent aroma, else it is uninteresting. (061019)

Can. Clear, golden, with a dense off-white head. Sweet, sugary aroma with alcohol and some grainy notes. Warming mouthfeel, and a flavor with sweetness, alcohol, malt and some grassy notes. Finishes off with warming alcohol, malt and some sweet notes. Maybe a bit too much on the alcohol side. (061005)

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, fully golden beer with a bubbly, dissipating, off-white head. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Medium body - not enough to carry the alcohol. Accents more of brewing cereal and brewing syrup than of malt. Does have a light, fruity edge though. Crude, bitter finish with loads of alcohol. No pleasure at all. 120806
