Bottle @ the restaurant. Pours murky rich amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, yeast and fruit, with some hoppy notes. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, with pronounced estery notes, bitter hoppy touches and touches of butter. Sweetish AMD slightly metallic aftertaste. Okay as such but hard to classify. Closest to a mixture of Amber ale and Doppelbock. Not a lager, definitely.

Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Almost clear gold beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy, light fine carbonation. Light pale malts, slightly dry and slightly sweet. Touch of dried fruits. Light finish. Meh!

500 ml bottle @ Ib Rehne Cairo. Not sure of the style at all here, even not sure if it’s a lager or an ale. In accordance with the description there is added some rowan berries, but in my opinion this is not affecting the flavor enough to call it a fruit beer. The color is for sure amber, but the flavor is lacking the malt quality and the hop profile for an Amber and it’s definitively no Brown ale. Still feels a bit too fruity for a lager, but this might have something to do with the berries. My closest guess is a Vienna lager, but please correct if this is wrong.
Anyway, the body is slightly unclear amber with a medium sized, dense white head. Aroma is fruity with caramel malt. Flavor is surprisingly refreshing based on the rather cautious aroma. Nothing complex here, but a balanced level of caramel malt, decent but not sharp bitterness and general fruitiness. Medium body and a bit light in aftertaste. Totally decent with no faults but not much complexity either.
Drink it while it last if you happened to be in the area.
