Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day 3 - Hackney. Pours clear dark gold with a frothy, off-white head. Light sweet flavour with notes of well toasted biscuits, leafy hops, a little earth, dried citrus, weak coffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Alright condition. Finishes with notes of toasted malts and biscuits, mild earthy bitterness, leafy accents, tea, earth, orange peel. Nice, tame bitter.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small foamy white head. Not much of an aroma – just some vague tropical truits. In the mouth it’s mainly fruits again – mango, melon, kiwi and general citrus plus traces of floral hops and spices. Finish is sticky citrus. It’s OK, but not for me at all.
