Description
Earl Soham Brewery originally brewed in Maurice's old chicken shed at the back of The Vic, moving to The Old Forge, Earl Soham in 2001. In 2013 there was a further move to share premisses with Cliff Quay Brewery.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber brown with a creamy frothy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, bready. Taste is roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate, yeasty, smoky, bready.

Cask: Poured a coppery orange with white head. Aroma is grainy, rich. Taste is similar rich grainy malts, light hops.

14/8/2021. Cask at the 24th Festival of Beer and Brewing at the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket. Pours clear pale mahogany brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, fruit, berry, chocolate, hint of tobacco. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light body, slightly watery, soft carbonation.

Cask - Pours a clear amber colour with a small mostly lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, hints of caramel and floral hop notes. A moderately sweet to taste, sweet malts, light caramel with a moderate bitter finish.

28/8/2020. Cask at the Fat Cat, Ipswich. Pours dark amber brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, nutty. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Quite drinkable.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with a bubbly off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, touch of coffee and dark fruits. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body. Have had this cask too. It's pretty decent.

Bottle. Poured clear dark gold with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, malty, hoppy, touch of biscuit. Medium body, slight sticky texture. Fruity, and a little warming finish. Pretty decent.

27/6/2020. Growler share courtesy of the SHIG. Pours clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of hops, grain, fruit, flowers and a touch of caramel. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.
