Bottle.
A- Dark reddish brown color, dark liquid, minimal head.
A- Malt, brown sugar, mild oak,.
F- Bitter, malt, burnt caramel, licorice, anise, medicinal, subtle booze.
T- Full body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.
O- Felt this was much more American style than English. Rather bitter and not a lot of sweetness. 2022 vintage drank with 3 years of age. Honestly, for the price and hype, this was highly overrated at least for my preferences. I respect why people like it but I was sorely disappointed. 4 oz would have been enough let alone a full 17oz bottle. A want list beer for me that did not live up.

This rating is from my 25th different Oregon brewery. 500 ml bottle from Tavour. 2023 vintage. Pours black as ink and is topped by a luxurious, pillowy tan head. Aromas of sweet, roasted dark malt, espresso, oak and whiskey. Flavor upfront is bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso, whiskey, oak and crushed black pepper. Rich and luxurious. Light carbonation. Long, roasty finish.

Can from local Grocery Outlet. Pours coppery gold with a huge foamy white head. Aroma has pine and orange. Med body or better. Flavor is pine/resin/citrus and something spicy prickly. Malty but not very sweet. Enough bitterness to overcome the maltiness. Strong and excellent flavor.

Bottled Orange pour, foamy head, floral hops aroma, citrus - a very nice example of the style. Well done.

Can from the local Grocery Outlet. Pours clear gold with a persistent creamy white head. Aroma has some Noble hop and some grain. Med body. Malty/cracker but fairly dry. Moderately bitter. Noble hop and perhaps a touch of citrus. Good drink.

Near black. Medium head. Primarily a chocolatey nose. On the palate, this is actually on the sweeter side, without robust bitterness despite a) the stated IBU count and b) being a Pelican beer. Still, there's some bitterness and it has chocolatey complexity, with a light toffee accent.

Dark amber, medium head. Sticky, caramel, toffee, touch of alcohol. Figs, dark fruit, a bit of chocolate, spice, bourbon, there’s a lot of complexity to this. Very good.

Cask days 2016. Very herbal, and green hop nose. Lots of grass, and crushed green leaves. Aroma just reminds me of chlorophyll. Hints if citrus pale cereals. Herbal finish, grassy, this is quite the green, grassy hop.
