Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from online, maybe RadBeer. It's an attractive beer, pouring clear honey-gold with a fluffy, off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with rich ripening citrus, some honeysuckle flowers, faint bread and caramel, an almost funky note too, light leafy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Surprisingly clean in the finish, with more floral notes, light pine and honey, background bready malts, some further leafy and grassy hops, some woody dryness, a vague impression of berries. It is complex stuff, there's a lot to get out of it. A nice departure from the heavy, sweet barley wines that seem so common. This one has an impressive cleanliness about it.

Bottle. Called 'Barleywine' with a subtext of 'Coconut and Vanilla Edition' 10.5%. Aged in whiskey barrels and the added coconut and vanilla. Has to be the same edition. Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, a very mild viscosity, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, not at all heavy for the style. Semi sweet caramel with a distinct brandy tone. Nicely integrated vanilla and coconut, there but never overpowering the base beer. A slightly bitterish orange peel and marmalade thing on the back end. Smooth and mildly dry finish. Clever stuff. There is a decent barleywine base here, caramel, brandy, ripe orange peel. A decent depth by it's Jack Jones. The coconut and vanilla adds more dimension and depth. Not quite a full on dessert barleywine, but very interesting.

Many thanks for this Ale to dantomlinson. Kolejny raz chmiel Citra, tym razem w porownaniu z Adnamsem jest go wiecej w nosie niz w smaku. Piwo jest delikatne, zlotej barwy piany sredniej i srednio trwalej, dominuje ta delikatna cytrusowosc citry nad slodowoscia, ktora jest totalnie minimalna.
