Description
Defying the odds isn’t just what we do, it’s a part of our DNA. We were founded by a woman in 1867. Lived through two wars. Survived a fire. Overcame the Halifax Explosion. Competed as an independent company against breweries 100 times our size. We haven’t just survived - we’ve thrived. And while others back down, we outlast. Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. The brewery is located in Saint John, New Brunswick and operates with values that have been safely guarded by the same family for 148 years. Despite obstacles – devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size – Moosehead is one of the most durable and long lasting companies in Canada. Ultimately it has been the Oland family’s passion for beer that has enabled them to be successful over the long term. With their product on beer shelves from the Maritimes to B.C., and its flagship Moosehead Lager shipped to approximately 350 distributors in the U.S.; Moosehead has become an iconic mainstay in North America’s beer industry

473ml pink and sky blue can as Moosehead Small Batch Rose Hibiscus Saison. ABV and IBU match. From In Pivo Veritas in Moscow. Pours foggy amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is sweet, tea, roses and some spice. Taste is medium sweet, syrup, floral. Slightly sour finish. Weird saison. It reminds me of a strong Russian lager that has had the sweetness maxed out to hide the ABV.

This whitebread poured a crystal clear yellow colour with a creamy white head. Medium lacing. Scents of corn and sweet maize. Maybe with a little corn on the side... First swig was.... unsurprisingly shitty. Flavours of sweet malt, a little honey and what??? Corn?

Pours hazy golden with a massive white head and intense levels of carbonation tracing up the side of the glass. Aroma of sweetened grapefruit juice, some pale malt, yeasty. Taste has sweet base, grapefruit aroma permeating through the mouth, slightly acidic and juicy. Palate has more grapefruit on the nose, somewhat artificial, slightly yeasty. Refreshing. #1200!

341ml bottle. Minimally milky, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, slightly artificial, fruity aroma, hints of peach and grapefruit. Taste is minimally sugary sweet and tart-ish, citric, citrusy fruity, minimally artificial notes of grapefruit, a touch of peach. Watery, dissolved sugar-charged texture, rather indifferent, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft, minimally prickly carbonation. Still slightly sugary and minimally artificial, but well balanced and refreshing - not bad.
