Description
Defying the odds isn’t just what we do, it’s a part of our DNA. We were founded by a woman in 1867. Lived through two wars. Survived a fire. Overcame the Halifax Explosion. Competed as an independent company against breweries 100 times our size. We haven’t just survived - we’ve thrived. And while others back down, we outlast. Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. The brewery is located in Saint John, New Brunswick and operates with values that have been safely guarded by the same family for 148 years. Despite obstacles – devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size – Moosehead is one of the most durable and long lasting companies in Canada. Ultimately it has been the Oland family’s passion for beer that has enabled them to be successful over the long term. With their product on beer shelves from the Maritimes to B.C., and its flagship Moosehead Lager shipped to approximately 350 distributors in the U.S.; Moosehead has become an iconic mainstay in North America’s beer industry

Clear amber pour, medium white head. Floral tea aroma, some sweet malts, caramels, and some subtle grassy hops. Good mouth feel, good carb. Finish is sligly spicy, some decent bittering hops. Fresh cut grass, some hay wih slightly toasted caramel malts. A nice english ale, with good english hop flavors. Not bad, just run of the mill. A decent quaff.

this was awful. There is a cooked vegetal/corny aroma and flavour that is just bad. NOrmally you would expect that in these budget crap lagers, but in this one it’s there, and its nastier than usual. And i could actuall tatse the alcohol, in a 5.5% beer, that should not happen. Just a brutal beer.

330ml bottle at the Laughing Buddha in Sudbury Ontario.
Pale straw color, no head.
NO much aroma really, just slight grains, and maybe some hops. Flavour is much the same, very wattery with a touch of crappy hops. This is prety much just water.

Ah, i have fond memories of Moosehead. This was the regualr beer in highschool and college before i got into craft beer. Yes, they the only big Independant Canadian Brewery left, and i have to give them points for that. But seriously, there isnt much here. Its slightly different in flavour than the other macros, you can actually taste a bit of hosp here. but all in all, its your typical run of the mill pale lager.

Olfactory profile of lager with prominent cereals and herbaceous hops.
Golden, clear liquid with a small effervescent foam that doesn't last.
Malty, grainy taste profile with esters reminiscent of cherry.
The hops are spicy and herbaceous and have a moderately sweet but present bitterness.
A tastier commercial beer than average.
Average appreciation!

0,355 l can from the Mix Markt in town. Clear golden in the glass, more than one finger white foamy head. Some grain, some citrus, some caramel on the nose. On a low level. Taste starts floral, little bit cheap alcoholic. Getting thin and cardboardy to the end. Low bitterness. Above average carbonated,

Slightly bready, mellow, minimally spicy, malty and slightly yeasty fruity aroma, hints of grey bread, brown bread crust, a touch of toffee, hints of red berries. a touch of raspberry and corresponding shrubs.
