Bomber from Carl. Pours amber with a large creamy off-white head. Aroma is a bit perfume - could be grape I suppose. Med body. Foamy carb. It’s a little floral, a little fruity, and a touch of grape is possible, but I’d vote for floral and citrus. The malt is present, but not strongly roasted. I’m thinking more ESB than APA.

Bomber from Carl. Pours hazy orange gold with a fizzy/creamy head. Light citrus aroma. Med body, nearly. Very nice carb seems to enhance the citrus aspect. Malt is present, but this is more about fruity citrus hop than malt. Nice.

Bottle. Almost black, beautiful dark brown head with decent retention and solid lacing. Aroma of chocolate oatmeal raisin cookies with macadamia nuts inside. Taste is silky coffee grounds and burnt espresso. Very nice.

Cloudy light copper coloured body with a thin white head that leaves a nice lace. Aroma of light earthy (english) hops, strong malt, a touch of alcohol and a bunch of bright floral notes. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong assertive floral flavour with a bit of light malt, some light alcohol and a large dose of english hops. Aftertaste shows pretty much only light hops, floral notes and a light touch of malt. Overall, nice, but a bit lacking in complexity and strong flavours. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 08-May-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 04-September-2011.

Tap at the Peculier Pub with Ethan. Clearish brown-ruby pour with a moderate head. Toast, caramel in the nose. Medium to big sweet flavor, slight plastic and rubber, earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Pine, earth finish, bit more bready, toasty malts and caramel. The off flavors subsided gradually making the beer pretty decent.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy caramel color ale with a nice thick foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light bitter hops with light floral undertones with a rich caramel malt base. Taste is also a well balanced mix between some floral and lightly bitter hops with a rich caramel mal bill with just enough sweetness to balance the hops profile. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. I understand this is not an IPA for hophead but the malt bill is quite incredible and I would love to have this more often.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/5/11

Aroma: The nose has some grassy and floral hops, and some caramel too
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear dark orange-brown color with a creamy beige head
Flavor: Tastes fairly bitter, lightly sweet, similar to the nose, plus some sour notes as well
Palate: The body is medium, with a somewhat sticky mouthfeel, and a tingly/lively carbonation
Overall Impression: Overall, I wanted to like this one more then I actually did. The taste just had something off about it, like an unintended sourness. I don't know if it was a bad bottle, or just not a great beer, but it wound up disappointing me just a little.

Clearish amber coloured body with a copper glow and a thick, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, alcohol, resin and quite a bit of sweetness. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with pine and herbal tastes at first with quite a large bitterness, some deep nutty malt and a little sweetness on the end. Aftertaste shows some rather deep flavours for the style with a lot of resin and sprucey hops. Overall, an okay Imperial IPA, too strong on some tastes and not enough on others - a bit too potent, plus the 65 cL bottle is way too much of this one. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 24-July-2011 for US$5.95 sampled at home in Washington on 31-July-2011.

22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), split with Matts_Property, pours black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, light oak, vanilla, roasted malt and some chocolate notes. Flavour begins with licorice, with secondary notes of roasted malt, chocolate biscotti, wood, light vanilla and oak, finishing with a slight bitterness. Full-bodied and velvety. It's good, though licorice notes always detract from my enjoyment.
