Description
Folkingebrew was founded with the aim of brewing beer that we like to drink ourselves. That is why we make beers with a distinct character in taste, aroma and color.

Because of our passion for good beer, we try to get a little better with every beer and push our boundaries.

Folkinge, the first part of our name, refers to the location where we started brewing: in the 'backyard' of a beer shop on the Folkingestraat in Groningen. Brew refers to the American craft beer culture, where we get our inspiration.

Between 2018-2025 client brewer, became a brewery in 2025 but the large batches, which are canned, are still brewed at Baxbier.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 15/02/2025.
Hazed orange topped with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is bitter orange, pineapple, melon, mandarin, grass, papaya.
Taste comprises orange zest, grapefruit, mandarin, guava, light pine nip, citric tinged straw, trace of candied fruits.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy hop bitterness.
Okay DIPA if a touch on the sweet side and lacking a bitter edge.

Oh heerlijk een bier wat ruikt naar verbrand plastic… smaakt gelukkig naar zoete steenvruchtjes anders was het direct in de gootsteen beland, dikke min voor het aroma

Can. A hazy yellowish gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth light pale malts, a good if slightly floral creamy sweetness. Galaxy hops bring their broad spectrum citrus and tropical fruits vibe, less piney and bright than Idaho 7 and, a little more tropical accentuated. Still a very different hop from the astoundingly bitter bastard multi head beast than Thornbridge and Kernel got their paws on 15+ years ago. Smooth finish brings a mild bitterness and a little hop spice. Good showcase dipa of modern Galaxy, and pretty quaffable with it.

Crowler from Beerdome. Aroma is juicy fruity hops with citrus, oats, pineapple, grass, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, some oniony dankness, touch of pine. Flavour is moderate to medium bitter, lightly sweetish. Body is medium. Just shy of the smooth velvety NEIIPA's I had in NYC recently, but I gotta agree this hyped beer does set a new standard for Dutch hazy IPA.

Can from Just In Beer, Groningen. Potent Citra hop aroma with citrus, orange, some lactose, grapefruit, stone fruits, some canned peach. Flavour is sweetish with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium. A step down from Northern Lights, the lactose adds quite some sweetness, but a good (Citra) IPA in its own right.
