Description
Folkingebrew was founded with the aim of brewing beer that we like to drink ourselves. That is why we make beers with a distinct character in taste, aroma and color.
Because of our passion for good beer, we try to get a little better with every beer and push our boundaries.
Folkinge, the first part of our name, refers to the location where we started brewing: in the 'backyard' of a beer shop on the Folkingestraat in Groningen. Brew refers to the American craft beer culture, where we get our inspiration.
Between 2018-2025 client brewer, became a brewery in 2025 but the large batches, which are canned, are still brewed at Baxbier.

From tap at De Markies, Leeuwarden. Smooth fruity IIPA with citrus, mango, tropical fruit, soft pale malt, orange. Modest bittersweet flavour. Gentle, smooth, balanced and rounded. A treat.

Can. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, a forward but not overdone creamy sweetness. Was expecting Enigma hop solo here but no! 3rd on the hop bill! False advertising or what? Anyway hops bring a fair dose of melon. Light cooling pine. Some red berry generic fruitiness on the back end. Looking for black pepper but really just a subtle streak towards the end. Mild modern Mosaic candy fruits. Smooth finish. Decent DIPA, goes down easy and despite the false premise on the can, it is Enigma dominant.

0,44 l can. BB 03/25. Like yellow orange juice in the glass, small white one finger head. Intensive tropical fruity aroma with pale grain. Taste starts sweet fruity, grape, orange with yeast. Some hop bitterness. Yes, present alcoholic. Pale grain in the second row. Really nice stuff!
