33cl bottle from an Italian Deli in South London somewhere: drank at my sons new place in West Norwood on 21st Dec 2016. Looked like your typical Med lager/pilsner: light golden, clear, clean and bright, usual fast fading white head too. Slight grainy/malty lead in both aroma and flavour: not a lot going on to be honest. Might be better in it’s homeland with a sun drenched beach and a deck chair rather than a damp London landscape and a hard wooden bench to sit on.

In bocca l’aroma rimanda a pane e mais.

330ml bottle into glass. Malty Weet-bix nose, a bit of pepper, a bit of stale bread. Sparkling golden amber beer with one finger white head. Light carbonation. Light body. Finish is sweet, watery, vegetal, a bit sour, a bit sherbet. Watery and lifeless.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear pale golden color with medium creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, grassy, papery and bit skunky. Taste starts light sweet grainy, follows by grassy sourness with papery note, mouthfeel is dry and mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Light body, watery texture and soft carbonation in palate. Nice try, but no cigar...

Ah yes, Birra Italia. I remember that Ogi and me found a bottle of that, with still some inside, in our train compartment a couple of years ago, but even we were unwilling to touch some crappy warm beer left by people unknown, so we had to wait for a couple of years before Ogi found it somewhere in Italy and gave us the opportunity to rate it. Birra Italia. Made in Belgium. So delightfully European. They should’ve named it Enzo Scifo too. In any case, poured a golden-yellow body with a small white head and tons of bubbles clinging to the edge of my glass. Malt-driven nose... Austrian in a way (oh no), apples and vegeables, sweet. Cooked apples in the sweetish taste, creamy grain, relatively empty. Not the worst thing you’ll find around, but hey... nothing you want to pay 2.90€ a 0.33l can for.
