Lys brun tåkete med to fingre høyt kremete hvitt skum. Lite lukt, heller ikke mye fersken å snake om. Noe trevirke. Smaker noe mer, litt emmen, lite sødme og bitterhet. Kort.

On tap at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It’s an unclear, golden-orange beer with and off-white, dense, finger-thick head. Herbal. peachy nose with some pineapple. Lemon peel, pine cones and notes of malts in the back. It’s full-bodied, nicely carbonated and with a malty sweet backdrop for the piney, peachy hops and some herbal hints. Rather bitter, both initially and in the end. A nice and herbal DIPA, hiding the alcohol well. 150822

On tap at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It pours a hazy, dark golden body under a dense, off-white head. Peaches, pine cones and some malts in the aroma. Nice but perhaps a tad one-dimensional. Nice carbonation, full-bodied and semi-sweet on the palate, with pale malts in the back of the flavor. Pine cones and peaches too, stretching far into the finish. A nice, fruity beer, not the most refreshing pale ale I’ve had, but sure nice. 150822

Draught @ BBB. Batch #2. Pours viscous blackish dark brown with a small mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, heavy vanilla beans, moist soil, chocolate syrup and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny roasted astringent, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, tons of vanilla beans, raisins, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Bit hot and vanilla heavy for me. Reminds me a lot of the RLGK celebration stout from All In Brewing when that was young and that developed beautifully during its first year so I hope to revisit this in a couple of months.
