Description

A really beautiful looking brown ale, clean, nothing off at all. Good body, nice mild roast, fairly neutral, but all flavours are in perfect harmony. Romanian craft beer Bucharest

Not their best effort. The bitterness is a bit more harsh than I’d like. However it is not astringent, just a bit overpowering. Romanian craft beer Bucharest

Great crystal clear ruby red color. Nice rose flavour that compliments the belgian secondary flavours. Solid body too. Romanian craft beer Bucharest

Hazy golden-amber, white head. Fruity malts, cooked fruit, moderate hoppy aroma with notes of wild herbs and medicine. Nice and clean taste, on the dryer side, subtle fruit and malt sweetness, clean crisp spicy hop. Smooth mouthfeel of a well fermented lager. Not crazy about its hops, quite like it otherwise.

Clear deep ruby, light beige head. Starts bad - smelly malts, rough roast, harsh alcohol, some veggies. After some aeration it gets decent - sack malts and dusty cereals, pretty simple burnt sugars and notes of harsh alcohol. More like a generic Brună. The taste is close - actual malts and lots of dark sugars, spicy alcohol and quite a bit of woody chlorophyll bitterness. Not what one would expect from a modern impy - it's all plain sugars, spicy alcohol. The lack of roasty notes make it feel more like a more simplistic kind of a Quad/Baltic Porter hybrid. If you can take that - it's actually pretty decent. If all you expect is a liquid desert - yeap, you'd be bitterly disappointed.

Almost clear amber, off-white head. Starts with fruity malts and jam, caramel, after a while it's all cooked cereals. Not much actual hops, except the fruity/jammy notes mentioned before. The taste is generic amber malts, medium sweet, notes of macerated cereals. Harsh spicy woody hop bitterness, a little bit of burnt cooking oil harshness. Soft mouthfeel. I've seen worse, but... goddammit, cannot Zăganu step up the game a bit, please?

NOV-2018. BOTTLE. Clear deep amber, creamy beige head. Big caramel malts, fresh cereals and some dms-y malts, a hint of alcohol sharpness - certainly does not smell like an IPA, but un in a bad way. Same with the taste - big malty sweetness, with a good kick of warming alcohol, moderate bitterness but little actual hop flavor. Not a bad, if you expect a hard, barley wine-esque string IPA. 7-4-7-4-15=3,7.
SEP-2018. DRAFT at BCBF 2018. Cloudy amber, creamy ivory head. Smells like fresh malts, some green grass. The taste is big, malty, chewy, good hoppy and boozy spice. Not your regular ultra hoppy double (triple?) IPA, but a nice fresh strong pale ale. 6-4-7-4-14=3,5.
