From notes. 22oz bomber from Old Chicago poured into a shaker. Pours a distinct red, almost purple color. Aroma is intense sweet hops and some caramel malt. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter. You can taste the hops and caramel in this one. Medium bodied with a thick texture and lively carbonation. Overall, this one is awesome. I’ll definitely find this one again just to share with my friends.

Bomber from the Folsom BevMo. Pours very brown/black with a bubbly creamy tan head. Aroma is sort of swampy/herby citrus over dark near burnt malt. Med+ body. Flavor is quite citrus/resin over very dark burnt malt. We’re talking dry and astringent. And bitter. In the finish I think resin is the winner. A little creamy chocolate note pops up, but fagetaboudit. This is bitter, bitter, bitter. Great ale.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a tan head. Smoke and chocolate aroma with caramel. Caramel and light roast flavor with light chocolate. Medium bodied. Caramel and light chocolate lingers with light smoke and light roast.

Bomber shared by Kinz at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a clear dark orange color with a large brown creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, nutty and milky notes and faint hops. The taste is rich chocolate with a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied.

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits IPA tasting on 08/04/2011. Pours a hazed bronze-orange color with a medium foamy white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and wheat. Medium body with flavors of hops, grapefruit, bready malt and wheat. The finish is hoppy with a bit of spice and grain left over. Above average effort from Ft. Collins overall.

Bottle @ Akkurat, Stockholm, July 30 2011. Dark orange / copper colored beer, large white head. Fantastic smell! Grapefruit, hops and bitterness. Taste the same, very bitter finish. Low carbo, low to medium body, could have had a little more but still a great beer!

Tap @ the Mayor in FoCo. Slightly hazy, golden orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Mild Noble hoppy, pale malty bock aroma that’s pretty tame and boring. A touch spicy, caramel, bready, pale bock flavor. Mildly spicy, bland pale bock malty bock aftertaste. Bleh.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours clear ruddy copper with a creamy/foamy beige head. Aroma is rich malt with cooked peach/apricot. Med+ body. Flavor is brown sugar with some cooked light stone fruits. The main impact is caramel, but the fruit is ever present. Tell me it’s a barley wine, and ... Oh. It is a barley wine. :)

Purchased at Archer Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed during a brutal mid July heat wave. Also, this is my 600th beer rated! Appearance is a slightly dark and clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma of smoke, malt, roast beef, it is thin but nice. Taste goes down very nicely with the smoke notes, good carbonation, nice small bitterness. It’s pretty good, nothing outstanding but a good drinker on a hot, steamy night.
