Brouwerij Hoegaarden
Commercial Brewery
in Hoegaarden,
Flemish Brabant,
Belgium 🇧🇪
Owned by
Anheuser-Busch InBev
Established in 1965
Since 1985, the brand has been part of Artois brewery, which provided fresh capital, after the fire. After the takeover, the recipe was changed to appeal to a wider audience and save on raw materials. The Artois brewery, which had already been absorbed into InBev (nowadays Aneuser-Busch InBev) for some time, decided in 2006 to close the brewery and move production to Jupille. On September 10, 2007, it was announced that Hoegaarden would once again be brewed in Hoegaarden. The brewery in Jupille didn't manage to imitate the typical taste of Hoegaarden...

Probably my favourite Wit Bier. Very refreshing on a hot summer's day. Glass in Cafe Leffe, La Rochelle.

Tall/skinny can picked up in Costa Rica.
Pours slightly cloudy pink with a medium sized pink head that dissipates quickly leaving aring, light lacing. Raspberries, wheat, sugar, mild tart finish.
Ok

Old rating - I've had this a number of times over the years, including in my home when I started that different bottle tastings. My first tasting last night however for a number of years, I feel like it was still a good beer, but it's nothing like it used to be. Now day's there are far superior white beers made all over the world.

It is a delicious beer, the best from this brewery. The taste is malty, spicy, sweet, few hop, better to drink it not so cold, a bit complex. 08.08.2016, buying it probably at Paris, to repeat without any doubt.
Bottle at home. A pleasant Belgian Strong Ale. Very quaffable for an ABV of 8.5%.
