3/8/2022. Cask at GBBF 2022, day 2. Pours clear pale golden with a bubbly/frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, straw, slight veggie starch edge. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light body, watery, soft carbonation. Drying finish. Okay.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 2, 03/08/22. Clear pale golden blonde with a decent white head. Nose is a little insipid, pale malts, light breads, faint citric vibes. Taste comprises grass, mellow citric peel, melon, straw, airy malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Passable affair.

Cask at EBF Summer 22. Low key aroma - a hint of malts and citrus. Clear copper gold. No head. Medium bitter. Quinine. Before developing juicy bitter lemon. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry finish. Pleasent enough old school SIPA.

Bottle from a local farm shop or other. Aroma is rich with dark fruit and malts. Boozy and liquorice edge. Opaque dark brown. Foamy beige head. Tangy yet sweet dark fruit and molasses. Followed by a bitter streak with liquorice and espresso. Underlying chocolate malts. Light-medium bodied. Thin cream. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Enjoyable... was told that it started off as a Belgian style brew and certainly had Quad facets.

Pours a reddish brown colour with a small frothy beige head. The aroma is malty, berries and brown sugar. A moderately sweet malty taste, sweet malts, burnt toffee, raisins with a drying bitterness to finish.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A murky chestnut brown pour with a ring of white head; aroma of raisins and sugar; rather thin and sugary at first with a hint of spice; then a dry finish with lingering treacle.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A bright copper coloured pour with a close white head; malty aroma; satisfying caramel malt body with spice and bitterness from fresh English hops; then a dry biscuity finish. An excellent old fashioned bitter.

Bottle from Bourne Valley Farm Shop, Addlestone. Aroma combines sour berries with grainy soapy malts. Opaque amber. Thin creamy white head. I thought this would benefit from being drunk after a dark sour but that's not the case. Sweet honey and biscuits. Sour berry and citrus streak. Some grainy bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Was expecting a boring twiggy affair but this is a soft characterful sessionable beer.

Bottle from Redh. Appearance - deep golden to amber. Generous white head. Nose - brown bread with some dried orange. Taste - just a hint of dried orange and a little cakiness. Brown bread again but a little astringent. Palate - close to medium bodied, light sweetness in the middle and slight astringency on the finish. Overall - ok.
