Description
First brewed January 2012 as Norfolk Brewhouse. In early 2019 they rebranded as Moon Gazer Ale.

We have a passion for great-tasting, natural beer – high in quality and rich in flavour.

Through Moon Gazer beers we want to involve others with that passion. You see, we think that beer should set out to do one simple thing – bring pleasure.

In our beer we demand premium quality, local provenance and consistency. OK, buying locally is a little bit tricky when it comes to hops. To create great flavours and to complement our British hops, we have also selected some excellent hops from around the world.
Furthermore, we see time as a key ingredient in creating a quality beer. Yes, we understand that brewing is a craft. However, it is also a science and fermentation, maturation and flavour development are all given as much time as needed to get that ‘just right’ taste.

Our demand is for consistency in our Moon Gazer Ale and keeping all your favourites available at all times. That said, we do appreciate and understand that people enjoy variety so you will usually find at least one special new beer a month for you to enjoy.

Also look out for various collaborations when we team up with brewing mates to bring new beers and have fun.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear gold with small white head. Aroma of grains and sweetness with some mild floral and spice notes. Taste again quite sweet, bready malts, pleasant almost mellow floral and citrus notes, tingle of spice. Smooth mouthfeel. Very sessionable and easy to drink.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear gold, moderate sized white foamy head Aroma is clean with notes of sweetness, grains, cereal, grass and a hint of citrus. Taste again is clean fairly sweet and grainy with a light lemon sherbet fruitiness, moderate bitterness. Light bodied but didn't find it watery. Very nice lager.

Bottle shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to LKS, 15/11/23. Murky amber with a good sized lasting beige head. Nose is fruit cake mix, caramel, spice, herb. Taste comprises dates, grains, lick of booze, caramel. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Lower grade old skool life.

330ml can from Beers of Europe. Clear gold/light amber, small white fairly fizzy head but leaves a scattering on top. Aroma is sweet, grainy malts, quite fruity for a lager. Taste is malty, hint of caramel, big metallic note, lemon, nice fruity tang, moderate bitterness. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Good for a pale lager but that metallic note is frustrating.

Cask at Kings Head in the pedestrian streets of Cromer very close to the seafront. Golden with a small head. Strongish, but perhaps just as describable as a full-bodied hopped brew. There's some fruit to be found too, although mostly in its aroma.

Cask at the Goat on the first day of the family summer holiday in Norfolk. Well kept with a great look in the glass. This is a classic best bitter and all the better for it. Great bitter hops and a chunky mouth feel.

Cask at the Plasterers Arms, Norwich, 27/01/24. Clear golden blonde with a dirty looking off white cap. Nose is grass, mellow citric peel, melon, mandarin. Taste comprises tangerine, lemon rind, straw, grains, light bread dough. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close splashed with modest hop bitterness. Okay I guess if lacking hop presence.
