Owl farm... purchased as Alstadberger Alderwood Ale... seems to be the same beer... pours light brown with a beige head. Aroma is a massive smokebomb. Burnt bacon and dark fruitiness. Burnt. Slightly sweet. Low hoppiness. Powerful stuff. Smokiness diminishes but the raw woodiness stays.

Small offwhite head is just a ring round the edge. Hazy deep orangey still body. Deep, intense, wonderfully pure, clean alder smoke aroma with earthy funky mealy fruity notes. Oh my god, what aroma. Sweetish earthy orangey fruity taste with intense alder smoke notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft, mealy, flattish mouthfeel. Dryish earthy orangey aftertaste with powerful lingonberry and juniper notes. Alder smoke, juniper, and oranges lingers for a long time, together with sooty lingonberry. Wow. Now *this* is the stuff. Finally, someone realized what you can do with traditional ingredients and methods, and really went for it. It’s still not perfect, but this is excellent, and like nothing else. (0.3l draft at Café Sara, Oslo. Had 4 glasses.)
