Deep amber color, small beige head. Caramel, yeast, some hops in the aroma. Light-bodied. Sweetish caramel, toffee, lingering hoppyness in the aftertaste. Light but well-brewed. Very similar to other Norwegian good micros from Nogne O etc.

Bottled at the brewpub. Black, beige fairly coarse head. Tart raspberry aroma. Dry and clean, fairly crisp, medium bodied. Lightly roasty coffee notes, plenty of tart raspberries. Low bitterness. Lovely flavour, but the mouthfeel is a bit hard.

Draught at the brewpub (2011 vintage). Very black, beige head. Heavily roasty with salty licorice and salmiak. Dry and near full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Salmiak takes over a warming finish with marked bitterness. Despite the heavy roastiness it is a hugely drinkable stout for its size.
