Country Boy Brewing was founded in 2012 by three native Kentuckians with a passion for great craft beer. Country Boy prides itself on making minimally processed beers with high quality, real ingredients. Their passion for great beer shines through their core brands, Cougar Bait American Blonde Ale and Shotgun Wedding Vanilla Brown Ale. Their recent expansion to Georgetown, KY with the largest production brewery in the state will allow them to can their popular Cliff Jumper IPA and Halfway Home Pale Ale, in addition to several seasonal offerings.

Pint can from the Wine Shop Charleston, 5/8/23. Very hazy orange, thin off-white head, average retention. Aroma of grapefruit, dank. Taste is grapefruit, pith, dank, resin, green. Lingering bitterness. Solid.

12 ounce can from the Wine Shop Charleston, 5/5/23. Doesn't say Cougar Bait on the can. Just Key Lime. But, according to Untappd there is no other key lime beer. Hazy orange, thin tan head, average retention. Aroma of strong lime, soap, pale malt. Taste is pale malt, lime, soap. Meh.

Lemon, milk, barley malt, and grass aroma. Pale yellow with large white head and mild effervescense. Moderately sweet creamy barley malt, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Good body. Solid.

6 oz. taster at Ankrolab Brewing. Crystal clear very dark mahogany color with a beige head and good retention. Good lacing. Sweet and malty. Light nutty notes. Syrupy mouthfeel. No bitterness. Good dessert beer.

On tap at P&P Charleston. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is citrus hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is citrus hops and some herbal hops.

Orange. lime, biscuit malt, pine, and grapefruit peel aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with large white head. Moderately sweet lime, orange, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter pine and grapefruit peel flavor. Good body.

Tap. Pours opaque reddish mahogany, small beige head, some lacing. Aroma is heavy fresh espresso. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, huge espresso, light cocoa and roasty. Medium body, low carbonation. Lovely if you like coffee.

Tap. Pours hazy golden orange, small off white head, good lacing. Aroma is malty, bourbon forward, pine, toffee, oak. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, rich. Full body. Good beer, but calling it an IPA is disingenuous.
