Cask at Head of Steam, Birmingham. Clear gold, small white head, modest lacing. Aroma of pale malts and tropical notes. taste is leafy, passionfruit, some biscuit. Somewhat tangy. Unremarkable in some ways but I enjoyed it, has a good sessionable quality to it.

Cask from Head of Steam, Birmingham. Pours black, with nice consistent beige head. Very roasty and dusty in aroma. Toasty, citrus zest, berries, coffee; decent flavour. A little light bodied but overall a decent porter.

Cask at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Clear gold with small white head. Some grapefruit, bitter zestiness, malts, light biscuit. So average and middle of the road that I didn't make any decent notes if I'm honest. Not that it's poor, just unremarkable.

Cask at Wellington, Birmingham. Clear gold with thin top. Tangy citric and stone fruits style ale. Middle has a mellow slight caramel malt which is a nice contrast, smooth, semi-dry. Slick and goes down easily but maybe lacks a touch more bitterness in the finish to elevate it.

Pours a clear light amber with a fizzy head that dissipated disappointingly quickly, no retention at all. Malty aroma with bread crust, light toffee and a hint of floral and resinous hop. Taste is mid-sweet with brown bread, light brioche, brown sugar, citrus, resin. Moderate bitterness and light pepper tingle. Light bodied but very refreshing in character. Quite tasty but somewhat mixed.

Can from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours a hazy orange, no head, very fizzy. Aroma is a lovely fruity array of the adjuncts, mango and passionfruit coming through the most. Taste of passionfruit and apricot, then a floral peach and mango. Finish is dry, fruity and grain noted. Light bodied, dry, refreshing, moderate carbonation. Its ok, nice fruit additions but could do with a greater hop element.

Can from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours a clear dark purple with small pink tinged head, nice retention. Aroma of wheat and blueberries and a hint of pepper. Taste of grains and blueberry, light fruity-yeast tang, then a very drying close with big peppery notes. Medium bodied with a high carbonation. An enjoyable interesting beer.
