Browny-red beer, white head. Smells of malt, caramel and fruit. Taste follows suit. Sweet caramel, mild malts and apple with a touch of hop through the taste and aftertaste. A slight spiciness to it as well, but it’s very subtle. A decent Christmassy beer.

Catching up on ratings from GBBF 2016. From cask. Looked good, but one of the more disappointing beers at this years festival...

On cask at the Cask and Barrel. Appearance - dark brown to black with red chinks. Nice fawn head. Nose - light iodine and liquorice. Taste - toffee, liquorice, charcoal. Savoury, salty. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - should probably be loaded as a dry stout.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, touch of dark chocolate. Mild and tangy dark fruits. Fine, but like a hundreds of other cask stouts.
