Tap @ Freshcraft. Deep brown/black appearance with a creamy, dark brown head. Quite sweet caramel/candy/chocolate aroma that’s fairly devoid of hops. Very sweet, candy sugar-like, chocolate, somewhat roasty, mild fruity, anise, belgian yeasty flavor that almost reminds me of a quad or dubbel. Where the fuck are the hops? I can’t taste them. This tastes like a complete mess to me but I guess I’m the exception not the rule.

22oz bottle shared by Bill from BA, thanks, I really wanted to try this. Pours with a piss, light yellow color. Clear with visible carbonation. Some smallish lacing. Aroma is not intense but all lacto and tart punchiness. Its perfectly on par for a berliner. Flavor is similarly light with lacto just tingling my cheeks. Beautifully light with sour tinges with tart tingles. All over awesome, this beer saved this brewery for me but the label is horrendous. I wish I can buy more of this.

22 oz bottle shared by hwwty4. Pour is a clear yellow, light greenish notes, with a smallish white head that breaks up pretty quick. Aroma is a soft sour, brightly citrus tartness, very much a fresh and vibrant nose. Taste starts with the wheat grain, turns to a soft approachable lemon tart sour, then turns back to the soft grain. Nice transitions of flavors, very soft and inviting tartness and sourness. The palate is light to medium bodied, spritzy natural carbonation, and a dry crips finish with the tartness. I liked this, nice amount of sour, just enough to let you know it’s there, but does not overpower the softness of the beer. Thanks Bill, this had been on my list for awhile!

Courtesy of daknole. Pours clear amber with thin off white head. The aroma is nice and complex with dank moldy earthiness, tart wine notes, brown sugar simmered raisins, wood, tannins and scorched toffee. The taste starts smooth and yummy with raisins mixing with red wine tartness, some wood and slings of caramel, toffee, vanilla and barrel-y arrows. Nice and easy drinking.

Dark ruby - frothy lace - nose is leafy tobacco, roasted nuts, toffee, earthy hops - soft carbonation, smooth texture - flavor is medium dry, with strong hazelnut - a bit of tobacco - light caramel sweetness and subtle hops on the tail end, along with a mild acidity - nothing stand out, but perfectly drinkable and enjoyable for what it is - nothing I would buy again, but decent - this brewery gets no love.
