Can (11/22/22) pour from Candia First Stoppe Country Store. It's a syrupy, opaque, dark, dark brown--virtually black--with nice sparkle, finger-width light brown foam head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong lactose, mild chocolate and hint of nonspecific nut. Taste is strong cocoa, lactose, roasted malt--maybe a hint of nut in the finish? Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste with bittersweet roast. Overall, not bad but not the decadent treat that was advertised--expected more. Too carbonated.

Nice and ever so slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish tan head that fades pretty quickly and leaves a thin lace on top of the fifteen per cent opaque body - nice look though! Aroma of allspice, canella and strong squash notes with a great emphasis on the spices along with some light sugars here, but this really is spice-forward in a nice way without much depth or complexity in the nose. Light to barely Medium-bodied; Some pungent allspice, canella, nutmeg and anise flavours show at first in a nice way that is balanced just enough with some deeper biscuity and slightly grassy malt notes with a good deal of sweetness here as well, but the squash body and especially the deep spice elements really define this one. Aftertaste shows some of the malt complexities with some squash and pumpkin pungency along with a strong dryness and spice components, but some caramelised sugar, toffee and nutty sweetness shows stronger at the end. Overall, a nice and well-rounded, spicey, sweet and malty beer that has some great aspects and perhaps even better complexity, all while still only clocking in at 4,2 per cent ABV somehow. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Altamonte Springs, Florida on 01-January-2023 for US$2,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 14-February-2023.

Roast and chocolate. Peanut is light. Black pour with decent mocha head. Some waffle cone, definitely lots of lactose. Bittersweet finish. Lactose clings for a bit. Can.
