Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Not quite black but it's very very dark brown. Light aroma with liquorice, molasses, cough medicine, blackberry and a touch of funk. Sweet liquorice taste with some fruity sourness nearer to the finish. Light oily body with lively carbonation. A pretty amazing beer.

Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Amber/brown, cloudy. No head and no visible carbonation. The woodsmoke aroma from the smoked malt dominates the scent. Sweet malty taste with a turpentine sour edge. Flat body. It's pretty good, but perhaps a little one-dimensional.
