Description
Founded in 2017 Three Hills Brewing is experimental at it’s core. We produce small batches, in a variety of styles, pushing boundaries to create the most interesting drinks we can for our customers to enjoy.
Our HQ is based in the countryside of Northamptonshire where we have 600l system, counter pressure canning machine, laboratory, barrel ageing program & cold store.
In 2020, we expanded into The Outpost, a new brewery with taproom on the Bermondsey beer mile.
Three Hills entered liquidation in May 2025.

Can, at Patrick's. Sweet, lightly spiced, lightly warming, full bodied. Tonka? Vanilla, cinnamon, cardamon and dark chocolate. Brown sugar and some toffee. Nice. Too sweet. Still nice. 747414 260424

Keg draught at the Way Station, Thrapston. Black, or very dark brown anyway, with almost no head. Aroma of sweet perfumed coconut, vanilla. Taste is more complex: it has the intense sweetness but it's drawn back by the competition of almost burnt malt. Toast, treacle. Small sips bring out the subtleties. Thick oily body with little carbonation. Not one of their best but still a very good stout.

Keg draught at the Way Station, Thrapston. Very light colour, almost straw. Clear with an small uneven white head and good lacing. Lemony aroma, notes of graining vanilla. Fresh taste with a yeasty character, sweet, more lemon. Light bitterness in the finish. Gentle body with medium carbonation. Not an overly exciting Helles but certainly competent.

Keg draught as Shoe in the Way Station, Thrapston. Reddish mid-brown with some haze to it. Small khaki head. Oaky aroma, some cherry. Sweet taste, woody and fruity, maybe a touch of strawberry. Lightest note of hunk. Light to medium body with heavy carbonation. Boy do I miss Three Hills.

Keg draught at the General, Rushden. Still got some of their Three Hills stock and Im taking advantage. Damn near black but actually very dark brown, a swirl of tan head. Aroma is strong salted caramel, pecan, hazelnut. Sweet, sweet taste with gooey caramel, praline, sugared nuts and treacle. A touch of bitterness at the end. Gooey body, thick with just enough carbonation. Light salted popcorn in the aftertaste. So, so sorry to have lost this brewery.
