Breakfast half on keg at D'Oyly's, Weybridge. Slightly hazy pale gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Aroma has a dryness to it. Light citrus. Slightly metallic. Big malts. Flavourwise there an citrus streak with metallic edge. A hint of sweetness and underlying bready malts. Light. Thin to slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Crisp lager. But ultimately just a lager.

A 440ml. can purchased online from Beautiful Beers while on a recent visit home, and drunk here in Taipei. Aroma: came as a surprise, vaguely citric, like an understated IPA. Appearance: opaque cola, one finger tan head. Palate: light-bodied, and slick, softish carbonation; finish is roasted and lingering. Taste: lightly sweet with an astringent note, a hint of pine. Palate trumps taste, ultimately lacks flavour.

Whiff of yer Belgian yeast. Touch of flora. Touch of spice from the pepper. Taste has soft wheaty sweetness and a bit of hoppy bitterness. Clean and highly refreshing with rolling foamy carbonation.
