About
Established since 2002, Blindmans Brewery can be found at Talbot Farm in Somerset amongst the cows. The brewery is a five barrel plant in a converted Milking Parlour. The brewery is fairly unique in having its own exclusive water spring which is carefully quality controlled, guaranteeing consistency. All ingredients are procured locally wherever possible, with malt supplied by Warminster Maltings, traditionally germinated on open floors in a process spanning centuries.

Cask-conditioned at the Orchard, Bristol 11/10/08. This was sold as "Aardman Animator", the in-house special at a pub which is across the street from the famous animation studio (and close to the SS Great Britain museum). I am not 100% sure whether this is one and the same beer, but the description fits. Deep amber in colour with a decent white head that left plenty of lacing. Some red fruit and caramel on the nose with a whiff of dusty hops. The flavour had plenty of chewy, biscuity malt with a big, lingering bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at the summer beer festival, The Royal Oak, Bath 19/7/08, for which it was brewed specially. An inoffensive golden beer, with some malty sweetness, summer fruit and short, bitter finish. Drinkable without being particularly memorable.

Cask-conditioned at The Grapes, Bristol where it was badged as "Firkin Good Show". I am not 100% sure that this was the same beer but the description is pretty much spot on. Amber in colour with some sweet malts, juicy hops and a decent bitter finish. A good session bitter.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, London. Copper thin beige head. Creamy toffeeish light bitter. Quite creamy and full in mouth, some dry dusty hop. Malts carry the caramel throughout. It’s an ok bitter.
