Cask at Mr Grundys, Derby Pours a reddish shade of โbitter brownโ with a creamy white head and good lacing. A subtle aroma of bready malts. In the mouth the main taste is dark fruits, but also malts, raspberries and spices โ though not very pronounced for any of them. Finish is bitter and spicy. Overall, a bit bland, but quite nice. More an Irish Red than a Bitter by the way.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Has a nose that is strongly lemon โ is that good or bad ? Pours a very pale yellow with a good white head. The mouth has an oily smoothness with hints of lemon and lime. Finish is bitter lemon. Not a bad beer, but nothing special. Wouldnโt by any stretch call it a bitter either.
