Description
Initiated by 3 young graduates, the Ninkasi was born from a simple idea: to implant the concept of American micro-breweries in France. This project was completed in 1997 and takes place in Lyon, on the Gerland site. In 2012, the factory moved 50km from Lyon, to Tarare more precisely (1 avenue Edouard Herriot). The new playground for our brewers has a capacity of 5,000 liters per brew (i.e. 23,000 HL / year). In 2023, Ninkasi moved to its new brewery, still in Tarare.
Note: The original Gerland location closed for works until 2027.

330ml bottle. Minimalyl cloudy, orangey golden colour with huge, fluffy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally fruity, hoppy and minimally sweet-ish, (pale) malty aroma, a cautious touch of apricot. Taste is crisp bitter hoppy, slightly grassy, minimally fruity, a touch of apricot and quince, pale malty basis with a salty touch of cracker; prickly, macropore carbonation. Almost Ale-like lightness, minimally overcarbonated. OK.

Bottle at home. Clear light golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, wheat, some mango I guess, light fruitpeel notes which also brings a hint of fruitpeel tart. Average body and carbonation. Mwah.

33cl bottle from Beer 52; BBE Feb 2020. Poured at home into a La Chouffe tulip glass on 15th April 2019. Slight mist in the golden body, snow white crown on top. Light yeast and spicy/herbal aroma with a coriander and pepper twist. Taste also leads with a mild yeastiness and coriander to the fore in the spice stakes. Nice.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel oranje bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige en zoete geur. De smaak is mango achtig met een hop bittertje in de afdronk.
