Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2017, [ Great British Beer Festival 2017 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.[ As Borough (Lancaster) Pale Ale ].Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, fruity malt, pale malt, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20170809] 6-3-6-3-12

Cask at the brewery. Pours a clear golden amber with a near white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of rye and earthy grains with a touch of orange underlying. Flavor has earthy grains, bread and rye with a hint of citrus underlying.

Cask at Borough. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges slowly and laces slightly. Aroma has citrus and biscuit with sweet grains underlying. Flavor has lots of biscuit supported by citrus and sweet grains.

Sampled @ GBBF 2017, Day 2. A clear golden beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, mild citrusy hops. Taste of mild citrusy hops, toasted malt, dry bitter finish.

On cask at the White Cross, Lancaster. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate. Some biscuit. Light smoke. Taste - dark chocolate digestive biscuits. Again light smoke. Palate - medium bodied. Crunchy dry middle section. Dry smoky finish. Overall - packs good flavour for the session strength.
