Cask at the Borough, Lancaster (the brewpub). Golden, clear, ample carbonation. Honey, malt, woodgrain in the mild aroma. Taste us a gentle malty bittersweet with sweet syrupy notes. This is the sort of beer that is difficult to rate: it’s not unpleasant - in fact it’s a nice feeling to drink it - but it just doesn’t have a lot of flavour. A good palette cleanser or ’come-down’ beer.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Semi opaque dark brown beer, few pale tan bubbles. Palate is light, smooth and semi dry. Not much carbonation. Artificial tasting chocolate malts dominate. Light finish. Okay.
