Cask at The Borough, Lancaster. Pours black with a long lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is heavily roasted and toasted, nutty, malt, and chocolate. Medium sweetness, mellow bitterness. Medium to full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is initially sweet roasted, smooth, and ending with more bitterness.

Cask at The Borough, Lancaster. Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma has a good level of bittering hops, citrus fruit, caramel and tropical notes. Light sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slightly watery texture, soft to average carbonation. A lot better than the bitter I had first.

Cask at the Borough, Lancaster. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head, leaving good lacing. Aroma of light malt, caramel, fruity also with a touch of chocolate and mint. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Thin body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Draft at the brewery tap. Opaque maroon brown color, tan head. Chocolate aroma. Taste is bitter coffee, light body. Easy drinking.

Draft at the brewery tap. Clear deep golden color, dense white head. Aroma of caramel and black pepper. Taste is peppery toasted caramel, silky mouthfeel. Tasty.

Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England [ As Borough (Lancaster) Wintertime Dark ].Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, cacao, butterscotch - toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted bitter, chocolate, sweet malt, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Pale soft malt easy drinking. Lime and lemon hop flavours good light citrus yellow grapefruit flavour. Dry finish. Just a lovely golden ake. The hops are excellent.

Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Amber colour with a white head. Aroma is light fruity caramel. Taste light caramel too.
