Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. A bright straw coloured pour with a thin white head; ripe melon aroma; full bodied and grainy, and slightly sour, with some refreshing melon; then a dry finish with lingering melon. Rather good.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. A pale amber pour with a thin white head; aroma of apricot kernels; thick and syrupy in the mouth, but not sweet, with a bready body that is quite light overall; then a hint of rye spice in the finish. A light and enjoyable version of a Rye IPA.

Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Mahogany-black with a thin beige head and a light sparkle. Chocolatey throughout, with sweet coffee cream chocolates deepening into bittersweet espresso. As with all of Bingham's stouts, it's very full-bodied for the abv. There's a good roasty background with a pleasant wisp of smoke too. It's maybe not quite as good as the vanilla variant, but it's still a lovely drink. Mmmm... I love this series of stouts.
