Description
John Wilkinson owner & founder of 4T’s Brewery, worked as a drayman for Tetley Walkers (Warrington) and always explored the brewery grounds, from there he opened his own pub in 1998 called Wilkies Tavern which is now named The Tavern Sports Bar, which is a well-known cask ale pub in Warrington. His dream was to always start his own brewery and produce the styles of beers he loves.

Jordan Millington head brewer of 4T’s Brewery, worked at The Tavern Sports Bar since 2007 and always had a love for real ale. John gave him the opportunity to join the rising of 4T’s and he loves producing beers that everyone will love resulting in the slogan “satisfying taste buds everywhere”.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Very dark brown. Not a lot of light getting through. A creamy beige/tan head. The aroma, well, it's like sniffing a fudgsicle. Lots and lots of chocolate fudge. Sweet taste with a hoppy bitterness mid-sip and some sourness in the finish. Flat, watery body. Decent but I've had better from this outfit.

Handpull cask at 9 Gallon, Warrington. Light gold, clear with a thin foamy white head. Light, perfumed aroma. I get the blueberries but it's certainly not very beery. Never mind. The taste is not what I expected: chalky bitter/sour with a long tart finish. Aftertaste of sour blueberries and a bit of rosewater. Weird little beer but certainly worth trying.

Handpull cask at the Tavern, Warrington. Light to mid-gold (once it settles) with a tight off-white head. Grapefruit peel, tangerine, some biscuity malt and a whiff of handsoap in the aroma. Hoppy bitter taste with a soapy flavour, leading to a finish laden with back-of-the-tongue hop oils. Soft carbonation. This would be a cracking cask APA if not for the prominence of the soapy notes, and even so I'd recommend it.

Keg at the Tavern, Warrington. Light yellow, a bit hazy with a somewhat loose white head. Lemon peel, some chalky malt in the light aroma. Tastes sweet with a tangy tartness in the back of the tongue. Long medicinal aftertaste. Very well carbonated. Not a particularly interesting beer and very low on character.
